Project Overview
1. Concept Overview.
Using art and sculpture to pay tribute to Oak Ridge as "The Science City," preserve its
history and provide a significant lasting civic and cultural landmark for Oak Ridge.
This landmark will attempt to be representative of Oak Ridge as a National Landmark
which has in the past, and still does push science, technology, engineering and society
into a new age.
2. Why the project?
a. Reaffirms City catchphrase “The Science City” and gives it symbols with meaning.
b. Pays tribute to Oak Ridge history and its continuing impact on the world.
c. Informs public and nation about the impact of Oak Ridge on the world.
d. Creates historical landmark - a tourist attraction.
e. The Oak Ridge City Center is an ideal location and is next to AMSE
f. An Oak Ridge and national FIRST
g. Good public relations for ORCC, the City ands AMSE.
3. About the artist – Emmanuel Snitkovsky.
a. World renowned sculpture and artist.
b. Capable of a variety of styles in painting and sculpture.
